Wasn’t excited (and still not) about my classes this term, but it’s been pretty smooth so far. Have a great teacher for Public Speaking, Research Methodologies is much less scary than it sounds, and Human Relations is kind of interesting. Although, I’m not thrilled about having a research proposal, two midterm papers and a speech due by next week.
Also, I concede my frustration with network-manager. It used to not work so well at home, dropping connection after a few minutes, but I’ve had no problems with a stable Gutsy. I never really used it at school as I had already killed it and set it up manually. But after installing winbind (to connect to Active Directory) and restarting the dhcp daemon network-manager works just fine. I prefer KDE’s front-end as you can set trusted networks to connect to automatically, although all it takes is a couple clicks in GNOME and it remembers all the details.
