It’s been a while since there’s been any posting action going on around here, so let’s get on that, shall we?
Been having so much fun </sarcasm> getting ready to go to a new school. Going for a bachelors’ in Information Systems Security at a small college near where I work. Financial aid was easy enough to get through. Partly because the figures aren’t real to me yet. Even so, the choice between moving forward and standing still is not much of a choice at all.
I won’t have to begin repaying until 6 months after graduation (about 3 and a half years from now if all goes well), but I’ve decided to take a nice bite out of it with each paycheck. The class schedule looks like it will go well with my work schedule, so I should have no problems maintaining what you may or may not call a lifestyle.
Only obstacle concerning that plan is the loans I still have active from a couple schools ago. I don’t have the math in front of me, but I think it would have taken at least 3 years (maybe 6) with my current payment plan; not including the fact that I can have a deferral placed against it because I’m (will be) a full-time student.
I’d like to get that done and gone, so I’m making much larger payments and hope to be through with it in about 6 – 7 months. Hooray for fiscal solvency!

So, I’m sitting here waiting for a few episodes (and all of season one) of Weeds (great show someone recently turned me on to) to download. If anyone from Showtime happens upon this: relax, we’re subscribers; I just prefer it this way.
Anyway, watching the bits flow in, I started to become concerned about my disk’s free space. So:

Yikes. I bought a 250GB hard drive less than 6 months ago and I’ve already filled up 63% of my home partition. It’s not helping that I’m such a hoarder.
Only one game on this part of the disk, Nexuiz. Haven’t even gotten around to playing it yet…
