Whew. Not a lot of action around here.
My cousin was in town for a couple weeks at the beginning of the month. I managed to forget my camera every single time (but I recently bought a case for it!). Didn’t do anything too crazy. Hit the pool hall, maybe a couple bars, the race track (horses, but I just went for the cheap food and beer). Mostly a lot of hanging out and socializing.
He also brought in his girlfriend from Argentina. She’s nice and speaks English well enough when she’s not flustered. The only observation about America she gave that I remember was that there are lots of fat people here. I think that about sums it up. Which reminds me: Chocolate Mint Pop-Tarts are an unpleasant surprise when expecting S’mores (“how can I have more if I haven’t had any?”). Almost like taking a big gulp of Sprite when you think it’s water, only less… sparkly.
I keep meaning (I say this a lot) to update the blog. Still need to put back the links and all that. Find and add some plug-’em-ins. Muck about with the CSS. Besides having a few other things to keep busy with, it’s damn hot lately.
Think it’s been around 100 degees Fahrenheit for about a week now. At least the Heat Index has been up above 100. Heat Index: what it feels like. Very scientific.
